Integrals of polylogarithmic functions, recurrence relations, and associated Euler sums

We show that integrals of the form ∫ 1 0 xLip(x)Liq(x)dx (m ≥ −2, p, q ≥ 1) and ∫ 1 0 log(x)Lip(x)Liq(x) x dx (p, q, r ≥ 1) satisfy certain recurrence relations which allow us to write them in terms of Euler sums. From this we prove that, in the first case for all m, p, q and in the second case when p+ q+ r is even, these integrals are reducible to zeta values. In the case of odd p+q+r, we comb...

An Identity for Sums of Polylogarithm Functions

We derive an identity for certain linear combinations of polylogarithm functions with negative exponents, which implies relations for linear combinations of Eulerian numbers. The coefficients of our linear combinations are related to expanding moments of Satake parameters of holomorphic cuspidal newforms in terms of the moments of the corresponding Fourier coefficients, which has applications i...

IDENTITIES FOR SUMS OF A q-ANALOGUE OF POLYLOGARITHM FUNCTIONS

We present several identities for sums of q-polylogarithm functions. Our motivation for these are the relations between the q-zeta function (see [3, 4, 12] and references therein), q-polylogarithm functions (see below) and the quantum group SUq(2). More precisely, the left regular representation of the quantum group SUq(2) is the coordinate ring A(SUq(2)) represented as a left Uq(sl(2))-module....

Sums of divisor functions in and matrix integrals

We study the mean square of sums of the kth divisor function dk(n) over short intervals and arithmetic progressions for the rational function field over a finite field of q elements. In the limit as q → ∞ we establish a relationship with a matrix integral over the unitary group. Evaluating this integral enables us to compute the mean square of the sums of dk(n) in terms of a lattice point count...

Gcd Sums from Poisson Integrals and Systems of Dilated Functions

(nknl) are established, where (nk)1≤k≤N is any sequence of distinct positive integers and 0 < α ≤ 1; the estimate for α = 1/2 solves in particular a problem of Dyer and Harman from 1986, and the estimates are optimal except possibly for α = 1/2. The method of proof is based on identifying the sum as a certain Poisson integral on a polydisc; as a byproduct, estimates for the largest eigenvalues ...
